The Ashton Jones Project

With influences including James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Rick James and Prince, and a throwback style rarely seen on this side of the Atlantic, Ashton delivers soulful melodies, gritty funk and sparks of falsetto with an audience captivating brand of energy, flare and musicianship. His group ‘The Ashton Jones Project’ features some of the country's most talented and burgeoning musicians, whose live performance credits include artists such as Cory Wong, Beverley Knight, Joss Stone & Pee Wee Ellis. Dusky Sunday
Dusky Sunday is a duo comprising of established musicians Fern Teather and Sam Thurlow. Drawing comparisons to Slow Club, Gabrielle Aplin, and Fleetwood Mac, Dusky Sunday stands out from similar bands and artists with their unique combination of catchy, lyrical songs played on acoustic guitar and hand-percussion - topped with Fern’s smooth yet powerful voice, and tailed with Sam’s bassy backing vocals. Though Sam has accompanied Fern’s solo music on percussion since 2014, his newly-discovered singing/songwriting talents caused a natural evolution of the pair’s sound over the past year - resulting in Dusky Sunday. -
Ady Johnson
An Americana UK review described Ady Johnson’s soulful acoustic music as, “…kitchen-sink romanticism worthy of Ray Davies and a bluesy sound filtered through the uniquely English lens of skiffle.” Suffolk born, London based antique furniture restorer/musician Ady Johnson, had both livelihoods threatened after he severed two tendons in a finger with a chisel. Thankfully he made a full recovery. Having already had success with Colchester band FuzzFace and gaining an Honours Degree in classical guitar performance, Ady decided to down tools and focus on music. Ady’s first notable public performance was in 2010 after he busked outside 6Fest - BBC6 Music’s event to celebrate their successful national campaign against it’s closure. Ady was asked by the organisers to stand in for a band on the main bill after they cancelled. Metro ran the story ‘Busker bags festival after band cancel’ a few days later. 2011 saw the release of Ady’s first solo album Tell the Worry Dolls. Recorded predomi-nantly live in the studio, this acoustic album received critical praise from R2, BluesMatters, and a recommendation for album of the year from Press Association. Tracks Pink Flamingos and Jewelly Box were included on two iTunes Essentials compilations. Ady subsequently headlined many shows and supported a wealth of artists including Scott Matthews, Ben Howard and Willy Mason. Numerous festival appearances included Latitude festival, back on his home Suffolk turf. In 2014 Ady headed to the US for his New York Tour, which included shows in five venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn. In the summer, Ady completed music for The Last Man, a short film by East 6 Media. May 2015 saw the release of Thank You for the Good Things EP. The title track being an ode to Ady’s late grandfather, under whom he received his antique restoration apprenticeship. The song deals with, in part, his emotional struggle in leaving the trade behind in pursuit of music. Produced by Mercury nominated/BBC award winning producer Gerry Diver (Lisa Knapp, Sam Lee, Tom Robinson). A previous version of Thank You… (recorded by friend and musician Johnno Casson (AKA Snippet) had already been selected for Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape and was aired on his BBC 6 Music Show. This version of the song also made Fresh Faves: Batch 78, on Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net blog. The EP was launched at two shows – one at The Water Rats in London and the second at Colchester Arts Centre. Ivor Novello award winning songwriter Scott Matthews, appeared as special guest and accompanied Ady's band at the London show. Gerry Diver also guested on fiddle. For the second EP launch, Ady was joined by guest Pete Flood, drummer and percussionist with the English contemporary folk band Bellowhead. Pete continues to play in Ady’s current full band line-up, along with Toby Bull on trumpet, sax and bass; and ‘Tuba Tom’ Briers on sousaphone. Thank You for the Good Things received praise from Americana UK and other online re-viewers. The title track was again chosen for Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape and this and other songs from the EP received widespread regional airplay. Thank You for the Good Things video was released and premiered by MUZU.TV in June. The EP was chosen by London’s Resonance FM for their Top 5 EP’s Of 2015. 1st January 2016 saw the release of New Year’s Day (Single mix) and accompanying vid-eo. The single was chosen for Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape and also re-ceived regional airplay. Later in the year, Ady was invited as special guest to support Scott Matthews and his Band on eight dates of their UK tour in November - December. Reviews from Rhythm and Blues and blog Musical Chairs, praised Ady’s performance at The Glee Club Birmingham. Ady has begun working on his second album with producer Gerry Diver, for which a Pledge Music campaign will be launched in early 2017. “...might well be the first contender for album of the year…deserves to be massive.” 9/10 Press Association “…an ebullient, life affirming collection with a touch of kitchen-sink romanticism worthy of Ray Davies and a bluesy sound filtered through the uniquely English lens of skiffle." 8/10 Americana UK "Excellent debut album! - Record company opportunity!” Mojomanic “He’s damn good live!” Tom Robinson – BBC Radio 6 Music -
Tim Lee
For more than twenty years, Tim Lee has been bringing his brand of cool to stages across Canada and around the world. All the while, he’s been working with and learning from some of the best in the business. Many years and tours with Russell Jackson (B.B. King, Matt Murphy, Katie Webster, Frankie Lee), Chicago R&B star Sam Cockrell and legendary Texas Bluesman Sonny Rhodes has allowed Lee to draw from a deep well and develop his own modern Blues sound. As a guitarist, Lee acknowledges the huge influence Mel Brown has had on his style since their first meeting in the early 90s and he continues to pay homage to his mentor at every show. Lee is also known to pull out his lap steel on occasion and while a nod has to be given to the time spent with Sonny Rhodes, his sound and style on the instrument is more reminiscent of Robert Randolph and Ben Harper. Add to that his powerful voice and confident presence on stage and you have the world class show that Tim Lee brings to excited fans, young and old, night after night. Armed with his guitar, his voice and a respect for past traditions, Tim Lee is a Canadian Blues player looking to the future. “Assuredly somebody with something to say and a new way to say it.” is how international Blues publication Blues Revue describes the Canadian-born, U.K. based performer. Echo Magazine calls him “a consummate bluesman with a chrome polished voice and howling guitar.” Hot on the heels of his tenure with The Russell Jackson Band (former bassist with the B.B. King Orchestra) and Chicago’s premier R&B band Sam Cockrell and the Groove, Tim was at it again. As a solo acoustic show or with his band, he continues to deliver at a world class level, night after night. Along with his band, Tim has collaborated with, among others, keyboardist/vocalist Graham Guest (Sue Foley Band) in a partnership which resulted in a number of incendiary performances and a live CD released in October, 2006. Tim also made many appearances as a member of Harpdog Brown and the Bloodhounds (guitar/bass), The Sonny Rhodes Blues Band (guitar/vocals) and other national and international acts. Since his first performance in 1991, Tim has enjoyed appearing with many wonderful artists like Andrew ‘Jr. Boy’ Jones, Donald Ray Johnson, Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne, James Harman and Eddie Vaan Shaw Jr. He has also made appearances at the Edmonton Labatt’s Blues Festival, S.O.B.A. Blues Picnic, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Pop The Gator and upstairs at the el Mocambo. Through all that, he acknowledges the good fortune he’s had, learning from some of the best in the business. Most recently, Russell Jackson and Sam Cockrell. Tim states “Russell taught me more about Blues than anyone. He also taught me about stuff you don’t find on the records. Things like how to keep your head on straight, how to survive the rigors of the road and above all how to deliver a world class performance – every time – no matter what. Working with Sam Cockrell gave me the opportunity to dive much deeper into old school funk, r&b, soul and even disco. They both taught me a lot about being an entertainer and they never restricted me to the sidelines. I was given the opportunity to be right out front and was encouraged to shine.” -
Gion Stump & The Lighthouse Project
Ominous places. Dark machinations. People on the fringe of society. As abysmal the setting of the new album of Gion Stump & The Lighthouse Project might seem, the 5 young musicians achieve to brighten this lachrymose and gloomy atmosphere. Although all songs and lyrics contain a melancholic and reflective tone, the experimental pop-songs with their catchy and partly playful melodies, as well as their driving rhythms, contain a certain degree of irony and dark humour and are thus not only meant for sensitive minds. -

Adriana Spina
Scottish-Italian singer and songwriter Adriana Spina’s sound is often hard to categorise. Fiercely independent, she has worked hard for over a decade to craft her blend of Americana, folk and country. Since the release of Never Coming Home, her 2011 debut album, Adriana has continued to write and perform tirelessly. Most recently, she had the honour to be invited by Joan Armatrading to support her on the Scottish dates of her most recent world tour, culminating in a storming performance at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. Joan was just the most recent in a list of high-profile artists with whom Adriana has shared stages in recent times, having also opened for acts of the calibre of Sheryl Crow, Paolo Nutini, Eddi Reader and Dar Williams. She has also gained the support of legendary music impresario Alan McGee, who featured her in two of the live shows he produced. Adriana gave a taster of her new material with the release of Christmas single Sparkle, which was playlisted by BBC Radio Scotland and selected by presenter Janice Forsyth who described it as a “beautiful” single of the week. Adriana mobilised her online community of fans to help her crowd fund the production of a full album. The campaign was a success and as a result she now releases her second studio album. More raw and guitar-driven than its predecessor, Let Out The Dark features Ross McFarlane on drums (Texas, The Proclaimers, etc) and comprises of ten songs which touch on themes from lost love and infidelity to atheism and the European refugee crisis. The album was released on CD, vinyl and download in March 2017, on her own Ragged Road label. -

En attendant Ana
En Attendant Ana is a pop and garage band based in Paris, France. Pop through the vocals, the arrangements and of course, the melodies, somewhere in between melancholy and joy; Garage through the sound, always rough and spontaneous. Seeking beauty and hope everywhere, En Attendant Ana tells the anxieties that arise from metamorphosis and transition phases. The band was born 7 years ago, when Margaux and Romain met. During a full year, they composed, wrote and arranged songs in Margaux’s basement but let them sleep on their computers for a long time. After having tried to play them live, they gave them up. But two years ago, they decided to give it another try, first asking Camille (trumpet), then Pauline (drums) and Antoine (bass) to join them. Together, they worked on these songs, on some others for a year and they decided to play them in front of an audience for the first time in July, 2015. From that moment on, they played almost once a month in Paris in different venues: La Mécanique Ondulatoire, L’International, Le Supersonic, Le Batofar, Le Pop Up du Label, L’Espace B, L’Olympic Café … In October, 2016, they released their first Ep, a tape, Songs From The Cave, on two french labels (Buddy Records and Montagne Sacrée). Recorded live, in an actual cave and on a tascam, Songs From The Cave crystallises both their energy and their fragility. The tape, handpainted, can be purchased on En Attendant Ana’s, Montagne Sacrée’s and Buddy Records’ bandcamp pages. A video clip is in production and will be released soon. -

His sixth studio album, Blue Sky Sunrise, was recorded in Tennessee and produced by Rodney Crowell and Peter Coleman. It was released in September 2005, and the first single from it; Clear Day, was an instant hit which was picked up by the Progressive Building Society for use in their television advertising campaign. Q-Tone
This eclectic mix of musical journey Men & Woman came together through pure chance & fluke. Vinnie & Robb… or should that be Robb & Vinnie (the battle goes on & who did create the name Qtone) have been playing & trying to out do each other since youth… This quartet was finalized by the unlikely mix of Charlie & Jess joining through mutual friends & family alike. Combining their various influences from 90’s Rock to Folk to Blues to Funk to Goth to Jazz to Blue Grass to Metal to Drum n Bass to Alternative & Experimental; this band works, fits & is polished to an unusual but melodic performance of talent, which is not to be missed live! So buff yer buttons & crock yer hat, cause this ain’t no middling paddle of clangour! -

Our debut album ‘Songs about…’ was released in early 2016. -
Romeo Crow
Romeo Crow is a family man, teacher and storyteller who uses songs, films, photos, words and his voice to inspire, entertain and educate people (preferably all at the same time!). He creates all his music, films and writing in his lounge, in and among all his daughter’s toys. Or, if he's feeling especially adventurous and creative he might use the wider world around him; the block of flats he lives in, the streets nearby, Battersea Park, iconic parts of London or anywhere he can get away with filming for free. He's inspired when people push themselves to improve, no matter how big or small the goal, and hopes to inspire other people in a similar fashion; if he can help or even just encourage people to improve their skills or situation even a little, it makes him a very happy man! He also trains martial arts, plays chess and loves to travel. -
