It’s fair to say that expectations of a signed artist, just back on tour… supporting somebody well-known, are bound to be high. Well it’s also fair to say that Dan Owen, who graced the ground floor at Three Wise Monkeys in Colchester yesterday evening, exceeded all expectations.
Dan’s voice is mature beyond his years, and to look at this fresh faced young man, one wonders, “Where did that come from?” But then it’s little wonder why Dan Owen is on the up.
Dan delighted his audience with a selection of his original songs, some from his new EP, ‘Bad for Me’ and climaxing in an amazing and energetic rendition of blues legend Willie Dixon’s ‘Little Red Rooster’.
It was indeed, a memorable evening, helped along by the ever hospitable crew of Three Wise Monkeys (managed by Sammy Britton) and the professional sound from Phil Maher.
And a big thank you to the artists who came to support Dan!
